Yes, I am upset about it too. They should never have changed her meet dress. Really some little girls do like buying things that aren't pink and purple!

I agree too!
Well, let me just give the perspective of someone who hasn't been collecting all that long. I love Felicity's collection! I have been pining away for Kit for many, many years, but then after discovering this board, and then watching the Felicity movie, I just had to have Felicity! I think so many of her dresses are just beautiful! I guess ignorance can be bliss. I've only been collecting for a few months now, so I have no way to compare quality...yet. Maybe it's that I don't know what I am missing.
I can appreciate what you gals are saying though. I do prefer the Rose Garden Dress to her new Meet outfit. And Samantha sure does seem to have a rather large collection! The only thing I could say I am dissappointed about is that her collection doesn't have the riding breeches anymore. Those seem so integral to her character, and they even included them in the movie. I think she definitely needs those!
I'm very disappointed with the shorter length of the new dresses. I was really hoping for all of the accessories to be reintroduced too.
I guess it's because I've been a Felicity fan for so long and I place so much importance on the books, but I still haven't gotten over the whole blonde Elizabeth thing. I also greatly dislike the new tea set and wish they had just made a full set in the pattern of Felicity's old tea lesson cup and saucer. It was so much more elegant and beautiful!
I am glad that at least some things were brought back in their original form. The Noah's Ark set is great, and they didn't make her riding habit purple or anything. The meet dress switch makes no sense to me, though, and the new clothes press is ridiculous.
I'm holding out hope that they'll bring back more of her accessory sets. I think they just wanted to test a few out first and not release too many things at once.

I'm right there with you guys. I was so excited to hear they were re-introducing her and I couldn't wait to see what they brought back. I got Felicity in 2000 and I had every intention of getting her collection over time, but I was heavy into the AGT line at that time and I put her collection off for the time being. By the time many of her things were retired, I had no real interest in her collection anymore. Then, once I got back into collecting after a break from AG, I decided to get some of her things. I was thrilled that her nightstand and clothes press were coming back. Then when I saw that she shared her nightstand with Elizabeth and the new clothes press was no where near as great as the old one, I had not real interest in working on her collection. Especially when they continued to retire parts of her collection like her chocolate set and teacup and saucer from her school collection, I just didn't care anymore. Plus, I hated that they changed her meet outfit! Not cool! So, although I love my Felicity, I will only get her outfits(minus the new one), and that may be it for her, with the exception of her bed and nightstand. Two thumbs down on what AG did to her collection.
I like many of the new items for Felicity but I agree that for everything she gained, she lost too much. I'm also very disappointed that the original clothes press wasn't brought back. The new one just doesn't work at all, as far as I'm concerned.
It is great that there are so many loving Felicity fans out there!
I'm also disappointed. Felicity has been my third favorite historical doll since she was released. Most of what they did reintroduce for her didn't seem as good quality as before. Members here have posted about how her things changed from "real" to fake (like plastic parts, etc.). I also read about dresses ripping out, and that didn't make me at all tempted to ask for any of her dresses for Christmas.
I only get AG items for birthdays and Christmas (if even), but the only things I asked for were her undergarments and Noah's ark, and didn't receive either. I was expecting to what many of Felicity's things.
It seems they brought back items girls today could identify with. A lot of her items from her initial release were pretty obscure. Believe it or not, I recently read in a non-AG-related magazine something like: "What is a chocolate set?" So even the things we'd think "everyone would know" are things they would not.
Becca, I'm with you on "blonde Elizabeth." I don't really understand why they did that, nor why they changed Nellie from a brunette. I'm really interested in seeing what Emily looks like!
The good news is that Felicity is back in the catalog. That gives me real hope for her collection. Some of you may remember, we were told she would NEVER again be in the catalog. I'm so glad they didn't give up on Felicity after all. Also on the plus side, I enjoyed Elizabeth's book.
I've waited to post this, but I just can't hold back now.
Felicity has a lot more clothes and accessories than many of the other dolls.
That's all.
I like her--I think the character is cute and her dresses and the time period are neat. I wasn't around AG for the "stuffing Felicity into obscurity" sort of thing, but I guess just be happy that you aren't a Kaya or Josefina fan. Think how disppointed you'd be then.
